Ruth married Joachim Geldenhuys on 5/4/1969 in Nelspruit. They have four children. Two sons, Erhard Johan Geldenhuys and Anton Ewald Geldenhuys, and two daughters, Karen Geldenhuys and Erika Geldenhuys.
